The Red Sox appear to have moved on from Jason Bay, feeling his defensive liability would be too much to overcome. The Boston ball club went and got themselves the best free agent pitcher for about what the Yankees paid for AJ Burnett. And while John Lackey doesn't have the "ace" stuff that AJ can have sometimes, he's been much more consistent.
